The Shoe Tree Quilt
I made the Shoe Tree Quilt to to depict the tree in my 85 year old mother's first novel, The Shoe Tree. It is a raw edge fusible applique of the tree, on a pieced background and border. The tree is embellished with tulle for the leaves and tiny shoes like the ones hung in the real tree in Nevada. There is a pair of white baby shoes on a lower branch, like the ones the character in the story hung there. The quilt measures 36 x 38" and is an original design by Janet Coggins for Dogwood Designs.
